Puppy FAQ
Answers to the questions families ask us most. Still wondering about something? Send us a message.
Reserving a puppy
How do I reserve a puppy?
Start with our puppy application. Once approved, a $500 non-refundable deposit holds your puppy or your spot on a waitlist. The deposit goes toward your puppy's total price.
Can I pick my puppy?
Yes. Families choose in the order deposits were received. We share photos and temperament notes for every puppy, and we're happy to suggest a match for your home and lifestyle.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Deposits can be paid by Zelle, Venmo or cash. The remaining balance is due on or before go-home day.
Health and care
What health care do puppies receive?
Every puppy is examined by our veterinarian, receives age-appropriate vaccinations, and is dewormed on schedule. You'll receive a full vet record at pickup.
Do you offer a health guarantee?
Yes. Each puppy comes with a written health guarantee covering life-threatening congenital and genetic conditions. Ask us for a copy any time.
Are your parents health tested?
All of our parents have Embark DNA panels, and we add breed-specific screening such as patellas, eyes, cardiac and airway grading. You'll find each parent's results on the Parents page.
What food do you feed?
Puppies are weaned onto a high-quality puppy kibble. Each family goes home with a starter bag and a feeding schedule so the switch is easy.
Going home
When can my puppy come home?
Puppies go home at 8 weeks of age or later, once they've had their vet check and first vaccinations.
Do you ship or deliver?
Pickup on the Northshore is preferred. Flight nanny and ground delivery can be arranged for an added fee. Ask us for a quote.
What comes home with my puppy?
A puppy pack with food, a blanket that smells like mom and littermates, a toy, vet records, the health guarantee and care instructions.
Will you help after I take my puppy home?
Always. We love updates and are here for questions about training, grooming and care for the life of your dog.
The breeds
Are Poodles and Maltese good for allergies?
Both have low-shedding hair coats that many allergy sufferers tolerate well. No dog is truly hypoallergenic, so we suggest spending time around the breed before committing.
Do French Bulldogs need special care?
Frenchies don't handle heat well, so keep them cool in Louisiana summers and limit hard exercise on hot days. We select parents with open airways to give puppies the best start.
How much grooming do they need?
Poodles and Maltese need professional grooming every 4 to 6 weeks and brushing at home. Frenchies need a quick weekly brush and regular cleaning of their face folds.
